Bit laggy at times, but actually getting a stream is 1,000 times better than what I did have, which was just a black screen. Foscam platform and ffmpeg seems to provide the same results. I didn’t check the resources consumption of each scenario.
Care to share any more details on have you have it set up? Foscam platform doesn’t provide any control over PTZ or any other fancy functions and relays on CGI Commands to get control over them. That makes me think that there aren’t much advantages on choosing foscam platform over ffmpeg.

I picked up a google home hub on the weekend and figured I’d get straight into using it with HA. We have a foscam camera in the toddlers room which i figured would be a good test for us. Related to AppDaemon as far as I know a proxy is mandatory in order to show an RTSP source feed in a web page. Unless there are other features provided by the foscam platform that you need (I’m not familiar with that platform). However the rtsp settings are set in configuration.yaml for the condor but foscam has its own platform support in HA.

The app on my android phone is just called ‘Foscam’. It’s the one I used to add the cameras to my wifi. I’ve added the cameras to the Foscam app, and only my C2 seems to have the sharing option, I have 3 C1s, but none of them do. If your Foscam camera supports PTZ presets, you will be able to move the camera to a predefined preset using the preset name. Live video from wired Nest cameras and doorbells stops after 12 hours. Choose your camera manufacturer from the list to finish setup.

Only a rtsp link is available, which you cant view in a browser without an addon. If you’ve confirmed RTSP working on the Foscam you can just configure it to use the ffmpeg platform in HA. The foscam platform allows you to watch the live stream of your Foscam IP camera in Home Assistant. Is any way to avoid using a camera_proxy_stream and show the feed from the camera directly in the dashboard? Camera_proxy_stream does post-processing that seems to consume huge amounts of CPU resources and I don’t need it. Camera_proxy_stream works fine if I configure the camera as ffmpeg instead of foscam. I am talking about camera_proxy_stream but I do think the issue has the same origin.
